Two Sister Inn

A welcoming guest
house, well located near the main street, in Manitou
Springs, Colorado
Manitou Springs is a
lovely small town with tremendous character. If you want
to stay in the area, Manitou Springs is probably a much
better choice than the larger, nearby town Colorado
Springs.
Manitou Springs was a revered
spiritual place of Native Americans, nestling as it does
between famous Pike's Peak, and the equally famous Mountain of
the Gods.
With a stones's throw of Manitou
Avenue – Manitou Springs high street – are many residential
houses, and plenty of places to stay.
I dug out what looked like a
lovely place to stay; but they could only accommodate us for
one of the two nights I needed. They highly recommended another
place: the Two Sisters Inn.
Two Sisters Inn, Manitou
Springs
The Two Sisters Inn is highly
recommended, for:
-
The Welcome
-
The Ambience
-
The comfort
-
The location
1. The welcome
The Two Sisters Inn is a small
and highly welcoming bed and breakfast. Even when telephoning
to book, the two lady owners (not the original sisters) are
only to happy to help and advise and make your trip
enjoyable.
On arrival we were helped to our
room, shown the amenities, then given a lovely cold glass of
home made lemonade. We sat on the porch drinking it and taking
in the warm evening.
The Ambience
The house has only a few rooms,
so it really is like coming into someone's home.
Downstairs are two comfortable
public rooms with – bliss! - NO Television. (At the time of our
visit, Michael Jackson had just died and it seemed that at the
last hotel, every channel on every TV was covering the
story.)
A wireless connection was
available for my netbook. I had to ask them to turn it on
though - sweet! Seems that there is a habit among some
Americans of turnign the router off to make it last longer.
Never heard that one before!
As I sat tapping away I the
evening, strains of light jazz played quietly in the
background. Very, very relaxing.
My partner played a slightly
'honky tonk' piano, from a good selection of music
provided.
The Comfort
The bedroom was snug but
perfectly adequate; the bathroom a good size. My partner is
very choosy about the feel of sheets on her skin. The sheets
got an enthusiastic 'thumbs up'.
All in all, very comfortable and
homely
The Location
A beautiful location in a lovely
town – Manitou Springs. The location within the town is
perfect. The Two Sisters Inn is just yards from the Manitou
Springs quiet main street.
In the street there are a good
choice of eating establishments. The proprietors have ample
recommendations written down for you, both for eating places
and places to visit both within and just outside Manitou
Springs..
Parking is easy. The Two sisters
Inn has its own parking off road. Plus parking on the road is
easy anyway.
Summary: Two Sisters Inn,
Manitou Springs

comfortable; friendly; excellent breakfast – gourmet, as they
say; great location; relaxing.
